Muzyka21, is a monthly magazine founded by Jan A. Jarnicki
in 1999. Since then, thousands of Polish readers keep enthusiastic
by the worth of its content. Dedicated to music lovers, this is
contemporary, richly illustrated publication introducing the world
of classic music in all its wide diversity and beauty, however,
mainly focused on Polish composers and "rediscovering"
forgotten scores.
Muzyka21 is a five sections edition: - Life - Celebrity
- Opus - Ideas - Music Lover Collections - committed on different
aspects of music life and special events. Reviews of concerts, festivals
in Poland and abroad (including a recurrent article from The Metropolitan
Opera House in New York City) have significant room in "Life"
section.
The "Celebrity" section presents short biographies and
interviews of artistes, conductors, singers, performers, instrumentalists
and famous individuals in the world of music. Our readers can better
acquaint themselves with lives and art of such famous characters
as Maria Callas, Philippe Herreweghe, Angela Gheoerghiu, Roberto
Alagna, Olga Pasiecznik, Jordi Savall, José Cura, Wanda Wiłkomirska,
or Marta Eggerth-Kiepura - just to name a few of them.
In the "Opus" section, our contributors discuss a particular
composition, a single opera, a song cycle and recommend their choices
from existing and available recordings, while the "Ideas"
section is strictly devoted to essays on music topics written by
well-known specialists such as Boguslaw Schaffer, Joseph Hertet,
Ingrid Loe Dalaker and Danuta Gwizdalanka.
Surveys of recently published classic CDs, DVDs and books are included
in the fifth section. Muzyka21 provides information, enriches
appreciation, and is very helpful monitoring readers in their musical
interests and choices building their own musical collections and
libraries.
